The Latest Arsenal Transfer Speculation

Arsenal are in talks with Borussia Dortmund over a £42million deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, say reports.

Aubameyang is the most in-form striker in Europe this season, bagging 24 goals in 23 matches and collecting a host of assists.

And now The Sun says an Arsenal intermediary has approached Dortmund to discuss a January transfer of the Gabon international.

The paper adds that Dortmund have slapped a £42m valuation on Aubameyang but says Arsenal are happy to pay that to do business.

Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott are Arsenal’s only forward options, with Danny Welbeck injured long-term, and getting this deal done could make all the difference in the race to beat Manchester City to the title. 03/01/16

Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez is the latest forward to be linked with a January move to Arsenal, having already gotten his name on the score sheet 14 times so far this season.

The Algerian international has been attracting the attention of a number of top clubs, but now the British tabloid the Daily Star are claiming Arsenal have made contact with Leicester to enquire as to his availability.

Mahrez joined Leicester two years ago from French Ligue 2 side Le Havre for just £400,000, with the Star now claiming his market value has skyrocketed to an incredible £25 million, thanks to his fine performances with the high-flying Foxes.

Unlike many of his fellow professional footballers though, the 24-year-old is not pushing for a move away to join a bigger club, with the report suggesting he is quite happy to remain at the King Power Stadium until the summer.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri told BBC 5 live virtually the same thing, but added the clubs view regarding any transfers, saying that Leicester “don’t need the money” they could bring in by selling either Mahrez or Jamie Vardy in January.

“They stay with us until the summer and after that they want to stay with us if we finish in a high position,” said the Italian,

By finish in a high position we assume that the 64-year-old was referring to a Champions League spot next season. 31/12/15

Arsene Wenger has admitted that Mathieu Debuchy could leave the club in January.

The 30-year-old has fallen behind Hector Bellerin in the pecking order at right-back and only made two Premier League starts this season.

Debuchy is thought to be keen on a move away so that he can try to get into the France squad for the home Euro 2016 tournament next year, and Wenger told reporters today that he might be allowed to leave.

"It's not impossible," said Wenger. "I'm happy if he stays but we'll see."

Debuchy's contract at Arsenal still has three-and-a-half years to run after he signed a five-year deal when signing from Newcastle United in summer 2014. 30/12/15

The former assistant coach of the Egyptian national team, Dia El Sayed, has claimed that Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny is having a medical with Arsenal.

The 23-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to the Gunners over the last couple of days and it is understood that the 39-time international footballer has agreed personal terms on a £5m transfer to the Emirates.

According to a tweet posted by El Sayed on social media and picked up by Goal.com, Elneny is currently in London undergoing a medical with the Premier League outfit.

Elneny, who could be announced as an Arsenal player at the beginning of next month, has scored four times in 21 games for Basel this season.

Arsenal are expected to be active in the winter window as head coach Arsene Wenger looks to boost his squad for the second half of the campaign. 29/12/15

It has just come to light that Arsenal are in talks with FC Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny in an attempt to plug some gaps after a host of Arsenal injuries.

The fee is rumoured to be in the region of £5 million which would represent a low-risk move for Wenger whilst potentially acquiring a talented, young player.

The Gunners have persistently been stretched in the centre of the park, after lay-offs for Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey, Tomas Rosicky, Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla. It remains to be seen as to whether this will be a signing for the future, with the 23-year-old only having been with the Swiss club since 2013. Elneny has however won the league title in all three of his campaigns with the club and is sure to want a step up in the form of the Premier League.

The Egyptian international was victorious against Arsenal’s rivals Chelsea in the Champions League of 2013-14 and has clearly impressed, even this early on in his own development as a player.

Interestingly, Arsene himself has played down any potential deals for January targets, even though they are in talks with Basel. After the 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Southampton he stated:

“We have many players who are injured and will come back soon. . . buy, buy, buy, buy is always the solution that people see”.

A good point, with a host of players due to return to the fray at the Emirates, is this buy merely an insurance policy for the second half of the season, or has the Arsenal manager seen some real quality in Elneny? 28/12/15

Arsenal will lodge a £33m bid for tough-tackling Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak in the January transfer window, according to The Sun.

The Gunners are widely expected to bring in reinforcements for their defensive midfield positions when the window opens next week. Poland international Krychowiak has been linked with a move to the Emirates for more than a year.

Manager Arsene Wenger is now ready to make his move for the 25-year-old having lost Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla to long-term injuries in recent weeks.

The report says the Frenchman was ready to make a bid last summer, but at that stage baulked at Sevilla’s £22m asking price.

But with a promising title challenge on the line and Mathieu Flamini and defender Calum Chambers his only options at present, he is apparently set to pay an even higher fee in the upcoming window. Krychowiak has signed a new long-term deal at Sevilla since Wenger’s last approach.

Krychowiak moved to Spain from French side Reims in a £3.3m deal in 2014. 26/12/15

Arsenal will not be selling Colombian international David Ospina according to Beşiktaş board member Erdal Torunoğulları.

Beşiktaş president Fikret Orman had confirmed interest in the Arsenal goalkeeper but Torunoğulları revealed that the north London based club have ruled out a move.

Torunoğulları said: “David Ospina is Arsenal’s second choice keeper and they are not letting him go in January there is no chance of this.”

Ospina fell down the pecking order at Arsenal following the signing of Petr Cech but he was expected to get some playing time after Wojciech Szczęsny was loaned out to Roma. 16/12/15

Lee Dixon has urged Arsene Wenger to splash the cash on bringing Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama to Arsenal in the January transfer window.

The north London side have inevitably been linked with a host of players as the mid-season transfer window looms large.

Wenger’s side moved to the top of the Premier League on Sunday thanks to their comfortable 2-0 win over Aston Villa at Villa Park, with many tipping the Gunners as capable of mounting a serious title challenge this season.

Saints star Wanyama is one player to have been touted as a potential target for the north London side in recent days.

And despite Gunners boss Wenger playing down the chances of a move for Wanyama last week, Dixon believes that the Kenyan could be the man to help Arsenal sustain a genuine title challenge.

Dixon told BreatheSport: “I would probably go for Wanyama, a holding midfield player.

“I think they probably should have signed [Morgan] Schneiderlin in the summer when they had the chance that was a missed opportunity, especially know with [Francis] Coquelin out injured. 15/12/15

Arsenal are close to completing a deal to sign Russian international striker Aleksandr Kokorin from Dynamo Moscow, according to a report.

The 24-year-old, who has played his entire career to date in his home country, has scored 10 goals in 36 appearances for the Russian national side.

His contract at the Moscow club is due to expire at the end of the season, and according to Russian outlet Izvestia, Arsene Wenger is keen to complete a deal which could cost the Gunners less then £4.5m.

The report claims that Kokorin has been a target of Wenger's since before this summer, and that the two clubs have now opened negotiations with a view to a deal being completed in January.

The paper also alleges that Arsenal held talks with Dynamo in the summer over a move for the forward, but Kokorin's agent previously insisted that just because a deal could not be agreed a few months ago does not mean that his client will not be able to move in January.

According to the Daily Star, Cyril Loginov said in October: "Aleksandr, if all well-informed, still has a chance [to move] and not just to Arsenal. If Dynamo refused to give Aleksandr to Arsenal in the past transfer window, it does not mean that he cannot be where he wants."13/12/15

Real Madrid star Isco can join Arsenal in a deal worth £28.9million this January, but only if the midfielder is guaranteed regular first-team football, according to reports from the Express.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for the Spaniard since the summer, but no offer was submitted and the former Malaga ace stayed at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, even though the La Liga giants are keen on keeping Isco, the playmaker is currently unhappy with his lack of playing time with the likes of James Rodriguez, Gareth Bale, and Toni Kroos ahead of him in the pecking order.

His frustrations have therefore alerted Arsenal, who believe they can offer him the playing time he demands ahead of Euro 2016.

The 23-year-old is hoping to be selected for the Spain national squad for the tournament, and with Santi Cazorla injured for the next three months, Isco could be the ideal replacement for the crocked midfielder in the second half of the season. 15/12/15

Arsenal are considering a move for Marcelo Brozovic and his current club, Inter Milan, want £18 million for the midfielder, according to Ladbrokes News.

Arsenal have suffered a number of injuries in recent weeks, with their midfield area being particularly hard-hit.

Regular starting duo Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla are both currently out, while Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky and Mikel Arteta are also injured.

With these notable absentees, the report notes that manager Arsene Wenger could bet set to dip into the January transfer market to fill the void and goes on to suggest that Brozovic is “high” on the Frenchman’s wishlist in the new year. 31/12/15

Arsenal have been linked with a bid of around £10m for Mexican winger Jurgen Damm.

The 23-year-old, who plies his trade with Liga MX side Tigres UANL, is ranked by FIFA as the second fastest player in the world after Gareth Bale, with a top speed of 35.23km/h.

Arsene Wenger has been monitoring his performance in South America, according to Medio Tiempo, and will rival Paris Saint-Germain and Sporting Lisbon for his signature when the transfer window opens next month.

The Gunners are expected to spend next month amid an injury crisis as they go in search of their first Premier League title in 12 years. 27/12/15

Mathieu Debuchy reportedly has no intention of joining West Bromwich Albion during next month's transfer window.

It has been suggested that the right-back is keen to leave the Emirates Stadium in order to secure his place in the France squad for the upcoming European Championships.

The Baggies were said to be keen, but according to L'Equipe, the 30-year-old does not plan to switch to The Hawthorns.

The report adds that Debuchy would prefer to pursue other options in England and Germany.

It is believed that the Gunners would be prepared to part with the Frenchman, providing that they receive a reasonable transfer or loan fee. 24/12/15

Arsenal and Manchester United are both reportedly interested in signing Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez when the transfer window reopens in January.

The Algerian has been one of the Premier League's standout performers to help the Foxes top the table at Christmas, scoring 13 goals and creating six more.

The 24-year-old and Jamie Vardy have been linked with moves away from the King Power Stadium next month having shone during Leicester's meteoric rise to the summit of the Premier League.

Manager Claudio Ranieri has ruled out selling his prized duo, but French publication Le 10 Sport reports that United are willing to test the league leaders' resolve with a bid of £29m for Mahrez.

Arsenal are also understood to be keeping tabs on the winger, who joined the Foxes for just £400,000 from Le Havre last year. 21/12/15

Arsenal's mystery £14m bid for midfielder explained

This whole #EpicBrozo business is starting to become a daily story in Italy.

Marcelo Brozovic, Inter Milan’s latest Croatian starlet currently on loan from Dinamo Zagreb, is becoming kind of a big deal in the Italian press, for all the good reasons.

Starting his time at the Serie A club slowly, the player has finally found his stride and has scored three goals in his last five games, showing the world what he is capable of.

It has been reported that Inter Milan are willing to make the move permanent, and would have to pay a combined €8m to do so.

However, the player’s performances have been such that Arsenal, who have been following the player since before his move to the Italian club, are interested in bringing him to London.

With this in mind, Corriere dello Sport have apparently reported, according to Calciomercato.com, that Arsenal have already made a €19m/£14m offer for the player to Inter Milan.

Inter Milan value the player highly, with Mancini praising the midfielder on numerous occasions, and would require a fee around three times more than what they will end up paying for him.

Arsene Wenger has reportedly added Javier Hernandez to his shortlist of potential January additions.

The Mexican international has been grabbing the headlines so far this season, having scored 18 goals in all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen following his summer switch from Manchester United.

According to Don Balon, that form has captured the attention of Wenger, who recently stressed that he would do business next month if the right player were to become available.

The report adds that there is also interest in the 27-year-old from clubs in Serie A. 18/12/15

Arsène Wenger,is understood to be monitoring Granit Xhaka, the Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder, as the Frenchman looks to strengthen his midfield.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Wenger has added Xhaka to his potential shoping list that also includes Ruben Neves and William Carvalho

The club have watched the Switzerland international in his recent Bundesliga and Champions League and are understood to have been impressed.

However, Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are also siad to be keen on signing the defensive midfielder. 17/12/15

Arsenal are looking to reinforce their squad in the winter transfer window and a certain Belgian striker is linked with a move to the Emirates.

According to Transfermarketweb, Arsene Wenger is eager to seal the signing of quality striker Michy Batshuayi who currently plays for Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille.

The 22-year-old center forward is rated around €20.6m (Daily Mail), has scored 14 goals and provided 5 assists in 24 games for the French club this season.

He has been quoted as saying “My preferred destinations are England or Germany. If you ask my favorite team, I’ll say Arsenal.”

“It is a club with a good philosophy, where youngsters get their chance. I’ve been an Arsenal fan since I was a kid.”

17/12/15

Arsenal’s hopes of landing Nolito in January have been dealt a blow after the player admitted he is close to signing a new deal with Celta Vigo.

The 29-year-old has continued to be linked with a move away from Celta with Arsenal and Barcelona among the frontrunners to sign the forward who can also operate on the left wing.

But the Daily Mirror are reporting that Nolito will renew his contract in Spain “very soon” although there are some “minor details pending”.

Arsenal are thought to have made an initial enquiry about his services, but according to Nolito, Barcelona have not been in contact.

Arsene Wenger’s side were thought to be in pole position to land him as Barca would be unable to pay his likely £12m fee in January.

“They are only rumours. I want to be loud and clear, it is only what I have read in the press and what my friends have told me,” Nolito said of the ongoing speculation over his future.

“I think that if Barca really want me they’ll call Celta, and as far as I know they haven’t done so.

“The truth is that I am happy in Vigo and that is why, some minor details pending, I will be renewing with Celta soon. I am only sure that I am doing well here and I have decided to renew.” 16/12/15

Arsenal are lining up an offer for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot when the transfer window re-opens in January, reports suggest.

The 20-year-old requested a loan move for the winter window after growing dissatisfied with his game time but according to French site BuzzSport,

Les Parisiens are now contemplating offloading him in a permanent deal.

The Gunners have been repeatedly linked with the French U21 international but are thought to be exploring their options more keenly following injuries to Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin.

London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Serie A contenders Roma are also monitoring the situation. 15/12/15

Everton have reportedly earmarked Arsenal defender Calum Chambers as a potential replacement for John Stones.

The 20-year-old England international has been strongly linked with a January move to Chelsea, having been the subject of numerous failed bids earlier this year.

According to The Sun, Everton fear losing their central defender should a fresh offer be made, which could mean a replacement being brought to Goodison Park.

Chambers is said to have grown frustrated by his lack of playing time with the gunners, where he has been used sparingly as a utility player at full-back, defensive midfield and in the heart of defence.

The same report suggests that Toffees boss Roberto Martinez is happy to play the youngster in his preferred position, but he may have to offer the Gunners the full £16m initially splashed out to land him from Southampton.

Stones may bring in a £50m windfall for Everton should they sell, though, with both Chelsea and Manchester United expected to make a bid in the New Year. 13/12/15

Arsenal’s move for Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has reportedly hit a snag.

According to reports, the Daily Mail suggests that the Gunners are not interested in paying £25million for the Frenchman.

Arsene Wenger is believed to be a big admirer of Schneiderlin and was set to make a summer move for his services but the fee the Saints are commanding has put him off.

Arsenal are still looking for a quality holding midfielder to challenge Francis Coquelin for a starting place but do not want to spend massive overs.

Chelsea are reportedly prepared to allow Petr Cech to join Arsenal, paving the way for a £10million transfer.

Arsene Wenger is keen to bring in a new keeper as doubts remain over the long-term futures of David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny and Cech is considered to be his top target.

It had been thought Chelsea would be reluctant to allow Cech to join a Premier League rival with title aspirations but The Telegraph have now reported they are willing to allow the Czech shot-stopper to move to the Emirates, while Blues boss Jose Mourinho has previously indicated he will allow Cech to make his own decision over his destination this summer.

Cech is understood to be open to a move to the Emirates and a £10million deal could be completed when the transfer window reopens. 6/6/15

Arsenal have been cleared to sign Jackson Martinez after the striker confirmed he’s leaving Porto this summer.

Martinez, who has been linked with the Gunners for months, is reported to have agreed personal terms ahead of a potential switch to the Emirates.

Porto are likely to play hardball over a fee, but the Colombian has opened the door on a move after revealing he’s set to move to a new club.

‘I’m leaving Porto,’ he told Portuguese radio.

‘I’m focused on the national team at the moment, but I’m waiting to see what my future holds.’

Martinez’s release clause is set at £24.7million.

Arsenal Transfer News

Morgan Schneiderlin has cleared the way for a move to Arsenal this summer after declaring his wish to play Champions League football.

The Gunners have long been linked with a move for the France international, who came close to leaving Southampton last summer before Saints blocked any further player exits.

At the time Schneiderlin was left disappointed but he still managed to shine for Saints as Ronald Koeman's men proved all the doubters wrong by finishing seventh in the Premier League.

Arsenal remain in the hunt for his signature and will be interested to hear him say that he is again looking to leave the south coast in search of Champions League football. That would rule out a move to Tottenham, who are keen to do a deal, and makes Arsenal hot favourites to wrap up a move as the player also says he wants to stay in England.

"I think my decision is made," the midfielder revealed. "If I leave Southampton it is for a club that plays better than Europa League.

The Champions League is my goal and if I leave Southampton it will be for a club in the Champions League.

"I have to give myself every chance of playing in the European Championships next year.

Arsenal Transfer News

Aaron Ramsey is the target of Spanish giants Barcelona, according to reports.

Ramsey is the latest name to be linked with Luis Enrique's side, with The Sun claiming the Catalan Giants are willing to table £50 million for the Welshman.

Earlier this week, Barcelona legend Xavi confirmed that he would be moving on this summer, leaving a gaping hole at the heart of their midfield. A scout has been sent to watch the 24-year-old from Caerphilly 10 times this season and it is believed that someone will be watching him at the FA Cup Final next weekend.

This may all seem irrelevant given their transfer embargo, but The Sun claims Barcelona are planning ways around that.

The Spanish side could sign a pre-agreement with the Gunners and hold out until January 2016 to play him, or sign him and then loan him back to Arsenal.

However, the former Bluebirds starlet still has four years left on his contract at the Emirates and Arsene Wenger is likely to need some serious convincing if he is to let the Welshman leave.... 22/5/15

Arsenal Transfer News

Jose Mourinho insists he is powerless to stop Petr Cech joining Arsenal.

Mourinho has admitted for the first time that the decision is not in my hands as he gave a huge hint that Chelsea will be willing to sell to their bitter rivals.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger wants a new No1 keeper this summer and Cech - who is 33 this week - is ready to move after losing his place to Thibaut Courtois.

Chelsea boss Mourinho, in an interview with talkSPORT as Alan Brazil Breakfast show, said: If it's  in my hands he would never go, would never go to big clubs with fantastic teams. Big candidates to win the Premier League. I would never let him go

But it's not in my hands. My perfect scenario is that he stays with us, I think he belongs to this club, this club belongs to his history and to his life, too.

"He is a fantastic keeper, fantastic dressing room and squad man. I tried to prove the respect I have for him. I played him in the cups, gave him matches in the Premier League".

"I can imagine that a 32 or 33 year old keeper feels young and feels the passion to play every game."

It is understood that Chelsea will make a joint decision on Cech between the player, club hierarchy and Mourinho - and it now seems possible for him to make the switch across London.

The Cech deal would be a hugely popular move among Arsenal fans and Chelsea are likely to grant him his wish because he has been such a loyal servant.... 19/5/15

Arsenal Transfer News: Arsenal are considering a £13million move for Bayer Leverkusen ace Bernd Leno, according to reports.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for a new goalkeeper this past season, and are now targeting the German ahead of the summer transfer window.

Representatives from the London club have been monitoring Leno recently, and have been impressed by his abilities.

And Arsenal can sign Leno if they match the shot-stopper’s £13million buy-out clause.

The 23-year-old has already been tipped to replace Germany number-one Manuel Neuer in the future following his debut for the club when he was just 19 years of age.

Gunners summer signing David Ospina became the club’s first-choice goalkeeper after Wojciech Szczesny fell down the pecking order.

Manager Arsene Wenger is keen on a world class keeper like Chelsea’s Petr Cech, however the Blues are unwilling to sell their out-of-favour star to a rival club.

Arsenal Transfer News: Arsenal have been dealt a summer transfer blow with Paulo Dybala closing in on a move to Champions League finalists Juventus.

The 21-year-old has enjoyed a breakout season in Serie A scoring 13 times in 33 matches for Palermo, following promotion from the second tier.

That had seen him linked with a move to both Arsenal and Premier League winners Chelsea, as well as French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

However the Argentine forward had always preferred to stay in Italy and is heading to the four-in-a-row Scudetto winners in a deal believed to be worth an initial £23million, with another £5.5million in potential add ons.

Juventus’ may also send a young player - France under-21 international Kingsley Coman is a potential candidate - out on loan to the Stadio Renzo Barbera.

Arsenal Transfer News: Arsenal midfielder holds secret talks over transfer deal

The midfielder, who is out of contract in the summer, is expected to join former club Sparta Prague and become the best paid player in the Czech league.

Sparta owner Daniel Kretinsky said: “It is not a secret that my big wish is his comeback to Sparta. The only question is when.”

Sparta held secret talks with Rosicky, 34, about a possible transfer in the winter which fell through after he returned from injury.

Board member Jakub Otava said: “We would like to get Tomas back to Sparta and we believe that we will be successful. The question is when it would happen and that depends on him.

"Our interest is solid and long-term.”

Rosicky has had offers from some MLS clubs, which he is set to to turn down.

Sparta Praque will ensure he signs on by handing him a £26,000-a-week deal.

Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign 16-year-old midfielder Yassin Fortune from RC Lens, according to Get French Football.

Fortune has reportedly signed a three-year deal with Arsene Wenger's side, and Arsenal have beaten the likes of Premier League rivals Manchester United to his signing. Manchester United have earmarked Petr Cech as the man to replace David de Gea, should the Spaniard leave the club in the summer, according to the Telegraph.

The Czech Republic international has been heavily linked with a move out of Chelsea, after falling out of favour with Thibaut Cortouis, who has become the top choice under Jose Mourinho.

Cech only started six Premier League games last season and has urged the club to consider his decision to move in the summer to extend his playing time.

De Gea, who has been the reason behind United's ascension to the top four, after finishing seventh in the league under David Moyes, has reportedly agreed personal terms with Real Madrid and has resisted signing a new contract with the Red Devils, with the current one expiring next season.

Arsenal have reached an agreement with Fenerbahce over the potential sale of Joel Campbell, according to reports from the Express.... Full Story

Arsenal have reportedly identified Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak as an alternative to Morgan Schneiderlin.

The Gunners were said to be keen on signing Schneiderlin from Southampton, but it is thought that they have been put off by the £25m fee that the Saints are demanding for the Frenchman.

The North Londoners have reportedly turned their attention to Krychowiak as a result.

The 25-year-old moved to Sevilla from French side Ligue 1 side Reims in 2012, but it is thought that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been monitoring his development since he moved to France as a youngster to link up with Bordeaux's academy.

Manchester United are also said to be tracking the Polish international.

According to The Express, Wenger is keen to beat United to Kryschowiak by tying up a deal quickly.

The midfielder won the Europa League with Sevilla this season.

Joel Campbell is reportedly close to leaving the club after Real Sociedad made an offer for the forward.

According to the Daily Mail, David Moyes has made a fresh approach for the Costa Rican international and will pay the Gunners around £6m to take the forward to Spain in the summer.

Campbell, who received clearance to play for Arsenal last summer, failed to break into the first-team under Arsene Wenger and was sent on loan in January to Villarreal as part of the £11m deal that brought Gabriel Paulista to north London.

The report claims that Arsenal are willing to part with the striker, who failed to impress during his loan spell, despite him signing a new contract before departing to Spain in January.

The former United manager is keen to bolster his attacking options after getting frustrated due to his team's inability to score goals during the previous campaign and it is claimed that he is hoping to add three new players in that department.

Apart from Campbell, Moyes is also tracking Burnley striker Danny Ings, but the England U21 star is believed to be closing in on a move to Liverpool following the expiry of his contract at the end of the month.

Meanwhile, according to the Independent, Arsenal are set to receive a £3m payout following Barcelona's Champions League win over Juventus on Saturday, 6 June, as per a clause inserted in Thomas Vermaelen's contract.

The Belgian defender moved to the Catalan club last summer in a £15m deal, but the Gunners had inserted a clause in his contract over additional payments depending on Barcelona's successes.

Despite missing the entire season and featuring in just one league game for the Camp Nou outfit, the player received a La Liga and a Champions League winner's medal, which entitles the north London club to get an additional £3m from the Catalans..7/6/15

The Italian transfer guru, Gianluca Di Marzio, has gone to print overnight on Tuesday claiming that Arsenal and Inter Milan are currently locked in a battle to sign midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia from AS Monaco.

The 22-year-old defensive midfielder was signed by Monaco for €20 million from Sevilla, and the French moneybags are thought to be seeking a significant mark-up on the player if they are to sell.

Kondogbia is currently under contact at Monaco until 2018.

Inter Milan appear to be working the hardest to sign Kondogbia, with the Nerazzurri having recently lost the battle to sign Yaya Toure from Man City.

According to Di Marzio, Inter have now stepped up efforts to sign Kondogbia as the Italians have sat down with the player’s agents for talks.

Di Marzio labels those transfer talks as “a difficult negotiation”, mainly due to price.

Inter appear unwilling to offer more than €25 million, while Monaco are looking for €35 million.

Moreover, Inter also face competition for Kondogbia as Arsenal are “also interested in the player”, according to Di Marzio.

Arsenal Transfer News

Arsenal have reportedly shocked Liverpool by agreeing a four-year deal with Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal.

According to Calcio Mercato Web, the Gunners have spoken to the Chilean's agent Fernando Felicevich and come to an agreement with him during a recent visit to London.

Vidal has been a target for Premier League clubs since last summer, with Manchester United close to landing him in the summer, but a deal failed to materialise due to Louis van Gaal's concern regarding the Chilean's knee injury that he sustained ahead of last summer's World Cup.

Arsenal were also linked with the Chilean last summer, but it was Liverpool who were leading the chase this time around as they look for a replacement for the departing Steven Gerrard.

The north London club seems to have stolen a march on their rivals, to land the highly coveted midfielder. Arsenal already have Vidal's compatriot and friend Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates Stadium and the two also share the same agent making it easier for the Gunners to approach the player regarding a move.

The report claims that Arsene Wenger is looking for a box-to-box midfielder, who can chip in with goals and has identified the former Bayer Leverkusen star as the perfect player to complement the likes of Francis Coquelin, Aaron Ramsey and Santi Cazorla in the middle of the park.

It is reported that Juventus will allow Vidal to leave, as they are looking to boost their coffers to strengthen their squad in the summer.

It is believed that they will hold on to Paul Pogba for another season with Barcelona planning a move for the Frenchman in 2016 due to their transfer ban, which forbids them from signing any player this summer.

This will come as a big blow to Brendan Rodgers, who was said to be keen on signing the Chilean, who has been impressive for the Serie A champions this season, as they won their fourth consecutive Scudetto.

Arsene Wenger confirms interest in Liverpool star Raheem Sterling

The Arsenal manager tried to dance around admitting he is keen to sign the Liverpool and England star, who has reportedly told his Anfield bosses he wants out.

But pressed to either confirm or deny reports, the Frenchman said: “I don’t like to lie.”

He added: “I do not bid for anybody at the moment. In the summer we will bid for people yes, but at the moment we are not in transfer mode at all.”

But Wenger also admitted Brendan Rodgers’ team could snub a Gunners’ bid again, just like they did a year ago when they rejected a cheeky offer of £40m plus £1.

“They have the right to decide what they want,” said Wenger. “But you need agreement of the player as well.”

Wenger also laughed off claims from Jose Mourinho on Monday that Chelsea’s 3-0 defeat at West Brom was down to other clubs like Arsenal allowing them to win the title so easily.

“I don’t listen to what people say,” added Wenger. When he was asked if that applied to Mourinho, he said: “Exactly.”

The north Londoners face Sunderland at home on Wednesday night, with a win confirmed third place.

He said he understood why Black Cats’ boss Dick Advocaat, 67, was going to leave the club even if he keeps them up, having been brought in on a rescue mission in March.

“Normally you want to continue but you have to respect his desire,” said Wenger. “He has given a lot and been in this job a long, long time.”.. 21/5/15

Southampton have set a 25 million [35m euro) asking price for Arsenal and Tottenham target Morgan Schneiderlin.

The north London rivals have both made enquiries for the midfielder but have been told Southampton will not accept any less than their valuation.

The Saints held firm last summer when they refused to entertain any bids for Schneiderlin as the player attempted to force a transfer to Tottenham.

The club are adamant that the 25-year-old will cost 25m [35m euro) this summer and will repeat the stance they took last year with Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren.

Liverpool tried to negotiate over both players but eventually met Southampton's demands for 25m [35m euro] for Lallana and 20m (28m euro) for Lovren.

Arsenal are prepared to spend up to 20m (28m euro) on Schneiderlin while Tottenham value the France international at around 15m (21m euro).

Chelsea and Manchester United are also understood to be monitoring Schneiderlin's situation with the player keen to move to a bigger club and play in the Champions League.

Southampton have offered Schneiderlin a new contract worth 60,000-a-week (83,000 euro) to stay at St Mary's but he wants a fresh start after seven years at the club.

Schneiderlin's relationship with the Saints board remains strained as he feels the club broke promises to listen to bids for him last summer.

The former Strasbourg man has missed the end of the season due to a knee injury after making 26 appearances for Southampton this season – and he may have played his last game for the club.

Southampton look set to qualify for a Europa League place next season but Schneiderlin has spoken of his desire to play in the Champions League.

"In August, I wanted to take a move but the club had lost too many players to agree to sell me," he told French newspaper L'Equipe in March.

"Since then I have had discussions with the leaders and I want to play at the highest level: it is important at 25 years old to finally know the Champions League.

"Given that, late in the season, Southampton may qualify for the Champions League and I can stay, who knows. I have no desire to be in front of my TV on Tuesday and Wednesday."

Arsenal are among the clubs monitoring Kasper Schmeichel’s progress at Leicester City.

Arsene Wenger wants a goalkeeper with Chelsea’s Petr Cech an option but the 32-year-old is likely to move abroad with Paris Saint-Germain keen.

Schmeichel, 28, only signed a new contract until 2018 last summer so would not come cheap.

Son of Manchester United legend Peter, Schmeichel has been at Leiceseter since 201 following spells at Leeds, Notts County and Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Juventus have agreed terms with Palermo for one-time Arsenal target Paulo Dybala.

The striker will cost £21m with a further £8m in bonus payments.

Arsenal Transfer News: Arsenal are in talks with Ilkay Gundogan’s family over transfer as Man United’s interest cools

Another day, another set of updates from German daily Bild over the potential next steps for international midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.

Back at the start of the month, the Telegraph reported that Arsenal were challenging Manchester United in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund’s out-bound midfielder Gundogan.

24-year-old Gundogan has already announced that he won’t be signing a new deal with Borussia when his contract expires at the end of next season, and it is highly probable he will be sold this summer.

With Mathieu Flamini set to leave the Emirates this summer and club captain Mikel Arteta now way past his best, Gundogan would appear to perfectly fit the dynamic midfielder profile that Wenger is looking for.

Now, according to Bild, Arsenal are in talks with Gundogan’s family over a possible transfer to the Emirates this summer.

Tomas Rosicky has expressed his sadness at not getting enough game time at the Emirates and claims that he could leave the club in the summer.

The 34-year-old, whose contract with the Gunners expires in the summer, has made just 15 appearances this season.

He told the London Evening Standard: "I can't tell you anything at the moment. When the season finishes, we'll see if I will continue for another season.

"I would rather not talk about it at the moment. Being on the bench is difficult - every player wants to be involved.

"When you're not getting the games you want or if you are not even part of it, it's difficult for every player."

Rosicky, who joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in 2006, is said to be on the radar of former club Sparta Prague.

Arsenal Transfer News:Arsenal sent scout Brian McDermott to Lyon at the weekend to run the rule over Nabil Fekir, according to reports in France.

The 21-year-old was recently voted Young Player of the Year in France after a stunning season in Ligue 1.

The winger has weighed in with 13 goals and nine assists in 33 league appearances.

That form has sparked interest from the Premier League and, according to M365, Arsenal sent scout McDermott to watch Fekir.

Former Reading manager McDermott joined Arsenal as a scout in October after being sacked by Leeds United in May of last year.

The Gunners are also reportedly interested in Lyon stars Alexandre Lacazette and Samuel Umtiti, who also played at the weekend. 18/5/15

Monaco's vice-president has admitted that they will need to sell star players in order to comply with FFP.

Arsenal have been given a boost in the race for Monaco’s Geoffrey Kondogbiaafter vice-president of the Ligue 1 outfit, Vadim Vasilyev, admitted that they will have to sell some players to footmercato.net.

The Mirror recently linked the Gunners with a move for the 22-year-old, with manager Arsene Wenger said to be a big admirer of the France international.

However, any move would be a costly one for his potential suitors, with Monaco reported to have put a £25million price tag on their star man to ward off interest, with Serie A side Inter Milan the first to make any formal enquiries.

And while it seems the club would be reluctant to lose one of their key players, Vasilyev’s admission suggests that a deal could be struck at the right price.

"We are constrained by the financial fair play to have a positive balance of transfers,” he said.

“So we sell more than we buy. And we'll make it, you'll see. Some (our youth) will go for sure.”

The position is one that the Gunners need improvement in, despite the emergence of Francis Coquelin, and Kondogbia would fit the bill, having enjoyed a stellar campaign in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League this season, with a particularly fine performance put in against Wenger’s side in their last-16 clash.

They would, however, face competition for his services, with the news outlet claiming that Juventus may also join the race for his signature, should he be available.... 6/6/15

Southampton’s 23 year old midfielder has impressed this season alongside France’s Morgan Schneiderlin and has admitted “it would nice to join Arsenal” this Summer, many expect the Kenyan International to leave St. Mary’s this season for Champions League football.

The midfielder claimed in April   “(Arsene) Wenger has been talking about me. He has let it be known he would like to sign me this summer”.

Wanyama has re-iterated his desire to move to the Emirates.

‘It would be nice to move to Arsenal,’ he told Kenyan TV. ‘But at this moment such decisions can only be made by Southampton and that is where my concentration as a player is.’

It seems that signing a midfielder is high on Arsene Wenger’s agenda this Summer with thearsenal club being heavily linked with Geoffrey Kondogbia and Arturo Vidal in the last few days. It would not be a surprise if Wenger was also interested in Wanyama as he showed an interest in the Kenyan before his move to Southampton from Celtic in 2013.

Wanyama is the kind of midfielder that Arsenal have lacked for a while now, he is one of the most physical midfielders in the league much like Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic.

The Kenyan has made 26 appearances this season and played an important part in Southampton securing a well earned European place for next season... 6/6/15

Mikel Arteta to make announcement on his Arsenal future after FA Cup final against Aston Villa

Mikel Arteta hopes to return to action in the FA Cup final against Aston Villa on Saturday (30 May) before making an announcement on his future at the club.

The Spanish midfielder goes out of contract at the Emirates Stadium on 30 June and, after having missed much of the current campaign due to an injury, it is still uncertain whether he will stay at the club one further season.

The 33-year-old midfielder has indeed only made 13 appearances for the Gunners this campaign and is yet to play a game since the Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund last November.

But speaking ahead of the FA Cup final, the Spaniard has claimed he is looking forward to have a role in the game before making a decision on his future.

"I have been training with the team. It is up to the manager now to decide what he wants to do. I will respect any decision. Obviously, everyone want to be involved in a final and what that means. So we will see what happens," the captain said.

"I will discuss my future after the final. It has been a strange season from me since November, with my injury. I have had some really tough times but I have learnt a lot. It is nice to see things out of the barrier and have a different input from outside, instead of being on the field. But my aim is to be on the pitch as much as I can."

Asked whether he would like to stay at the Emirates Stadium next season, he replied: "I would love to."

But when questioned what the club have told him about that, he responded: "The indication is that we are both very clear of what we want and we will announce something after the final."

Arsenal have made a decision regarding the future of right-back Carl Jenkinson, report The Telegraph.

Jenkinson has been on loan at West Ham United for the past season, who the paper report are keen to sign him on a permanent deal.

Arsenal are said to have decided not to sell the England under-21 international, but instead are willing to sanction a second successive year on loan.

The Hammers are still mulling the option over, and it is possible they do not act either way until they appoint a new boss. With their Europa League campaign set to start in just over a month however, they could be prompted to act quickly.

For Arsenal the decision makes sense. Jenkinson is clearly talented, already earning a senior England cap and is a boyhood Gunners fan. With conceivably over a decade ahead of him at the top level, letting him go could prove to be a big mistake.

They are well set at right-back with Calum Chambers, Hector Bellerin, and Mathieu Debuchy.

Debuchy was bought as a short-term option, and if injuries ruin his second season at the club or fails to dislodge Bellerin, Jenkinson could return and Arsenal move the Frenchman on.

Arsenal must also bear in mind Bellerin's capacity to one day return to Barcelona; and if they fail to avoid that situation and have let Jenkinson go, questions would be asked.

West Ham must now make a decision whether to look for a more long-term option, or simply take Jenkinson for another year and hope down the line Arsenal can be persuaded differently in a year's time.

Arsene Wenger is understood to have finally moved ahead with a bid for Barcelona winger Pedro Rodriguez, according to reports in Fichajes.net.

The 27 year old, who has scored 11 goals and provided 8 assists in 48 appearances for his club this season, is understood to have become disillusioned with his stay at the Nou Camp, playing second fiddle to the likes of Neymar, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi at the club.

As a result, he is believed to have become desperate to move away from the club. Barcelona themselves, meanwhile, are considering cashing on him this summer rather than seeing him leave for nothing next year, when his current contract at the club expires Pedro is a highly talented winger, who can ply his trade with ease on either of the wings.

And on account of his immense experience in club and international football, he may prove to be a massive addition to the Gunners’ squad. Additionally, with Lukas Podolski expected to bid adieu to Arsenal this summer, the Spaniard may prove to be an effective replacement for him at the Emirates Stadium.

It will, however, be interesting to see how the Gunners beat off competition from the likes of Manchester United and Inter Milan, both of whom have also tabled bids for the forward.

Arsene Wenger, it seems, is now on the verge of landing Juventus star Arturo Vidal.

Renowned South American journalist Hernan Feler, who first broke the story of the Gunners signing Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona last summer, has revealed the news regarding the transfer of the 28 year old.

Feler tweeted: “After the Copa America, the arrival of Arturo Vidal to Arsenal will be made official. It is fully closed. He will be the companion of Alexis.

The 28 year old has been in good form this season, making 44 appearances for his side, and scoring 8 goals, whilst providing 4 assists. He is widely considered as one of the most highly rated complete midfielders in Europe, and even had Manchester United hot on his trail for quite a while.

Vidal is known for his versatility, being capable of playing as a defensive midfielder, a central midfielder or an attacking midfielder. His addition to the Gunners’ dressing room would not only provide the manager with a good cover for the likes of Jack Wilshere and Mikel Arteta, but also with a world class midfielder, who would add a whole new dimension to the club’s defence and attack.

Vidal’s transfer will reportedly set the north Londoners back by £25m.

Portuguese newspaper Jornal di Noticias reckon Arsenal have some kind of agreement in principle to sign FC Porto striker Jackson Martinez.

Arsenal have repeatedly been linked with a move for the Colombian international and last night he played what the newspaper reckon would be his goodbye game for Porto.

Before the game Jornal di Noticias published an article saying headlined 'Jackson says goodbye with Arsenal in sight' and went on to say they'd (the newspaper) been harassing his agent for information on the situation.

Jackson renewed his Porto contract last year but, much the same as Nico Gaitan at Benfica, he got a lower buyout clause as part of the deal.

That saw Jackson's price drop down to €35m, which converts to around £25m. It's stated that Porto would want either the clause or as close to it as possible so a deal being done around the €30m mark would sound quite possible, although Arsenal may aim for cheaper.

Glenn Hoddle believes that Arsenal should raid Southampton once again this summer to sign midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Saints following his impressive performances for the club over the past two seasons.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in the Frenchman, but Hoddle has urged the Gunners to challenge their bitter rivals for his signature.

Hoddle wrote in the Daily Mail: "My former club has been something of a breeding ground for Arsenal players in Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Calum Chambers. Now it's the midfield they need to improve and Morgan Schneiderlin would be a great addition.

"He's a good user of the ball, as well as someone who wants to snap at people and win it back. He enjoys intercepting and has the defensive mindset, something Arsenal midfielders often lack. I think he would be an improvement on what they have, even though Francis Coquelin has done well."

Arsenal have signed 11 year old wunderkid Charlie Patino from Luton Town, paying the League Two club £10,000 in compensation, Neil Ashton reports in the Daily Mail

Patino has been on the radar of several top Premier League clubs for the past year, and The Gunners have beaten Chelsea, Spurs and Manchester City in the race to sign the Luton-born kid.

Arsenal held a geographical advantage over their rivals, with Patino’s parents prefering the proximity of the London club to their St Albans home. Patino is a Luton Town season ticket holder, so he’ll have to be professional and turn his allegiances to the Gunners from now on.

It’s a measure of how competitive youth football has become that the top clubs are battling it out for players as young as eleven years of age. Should kids really be allowed to be subjected to bidding wars at such a young age?!
