Is Hummels now ready to complete Arsenal transfer?

By The Gooner Bible

Arsene Wenger spoke the other day about how he is ready and willing to spend big money in the transfer market.

Arsenal are now out of the financial restraints of building the new state of the art Emirates Stadium. The manager has proved that he is willing to spend big on offensive players like Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez but now that Arsenal fans want to see that carry on into the defence and the central midfield areas of the squad.

The Frenchman also says that he will only spend if the right players are available and according to a report in The Mirror today, one of the best centre backs in the world could be available. It would take a lot of money to persuade the German club Borussia Dortmund to part with Mats Hummels, but it does now seem that the 26-year old would be keen on a transfer.

Hummels let his frustration with his current club show after they lost again at the weekend against one of the few clubs below them Werder Bremen. That meant that Bremen went above them and left Dortmund level on points at the bottom of the Bundesliga with Freiburg.

Hummels said, “It’s pretty astonishing that we are so pathetic.”

With just one win from their last eight games, Dortmund now have over a month to ponder their sorry situation as the winter break means they do not play again until January 31st, which just happens to be transfer deadline day. So Arsene, you want top quality and availability do you?

Surely there has never been a better time to go for Hummels and getting that transfer completed would prove your doubters wrong and get the Arsenal fans behind you in a big way. Could this stunning move really happen Gooners?

Oxlade-Chamberlain disappointed with Arsenal

By The Gooner Bible

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has admitted that he and his Arsenal teammates are disappointed with the manner of Sunday's 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield.

The Gunners looked on course for three points as goals from Mathieu Debuchy and Olivier Giroud turned the game on its head after Philippe Coutinho's opener.

However, Martin Skrtel powered home a 97th-minute header to snatch a point for Brendan Rodgers's side.

"It's really disappointing for us," Oxlade-Chamberlain told reporters.

"I don't think we played that well today, but sometimes you need to win those games when you don't play well, especially away from home at a hard place at Anfield.

"The manager said that if we came out well in the second half by building on the goal we got late on, that we'd have a good chance of winning the game. To be 2-1 up so late on, we're really disappointed we weren't able to see it out."

The North Londoners sit four points adrift of fourth-placed West Ham United in the Premier League table.

Deal Close – Arsenal to Sign €23m Superstar

By The Gooner Bible

Arsenal to sign yet another playmaker, surely that should not be happening but reports suggest something like that.

According to Metro, Arsenal close to finalizing deal to sign Swiss international and Bayern Munich playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Former Basel star has won many trophies with the German giants since moving to the Allianz Arena. However, he has mainly warmed the bench because of so many top quality players ahead of him.

Bayern already have the likes of Robben, Ribery, Muller, Gotze and Shaqiri has rarely got playing time.

The versatile playmaker was set to depart in the summer window but Guardiola made sure that he stayed.

Things have not changed one bit though, this season, Shaqiri has only featured in 9 league games for the Bundesliga champions and could only start in three.

As per the provided link, €23m superstar may be sold for cheap as Arsenal look close to sealing the deal.

Liverpool have also been heavily linked to sign him since last summer and may have to move swiftly if they are to secure his services in winter.
