Serge Gnabry hopes to make an impact at Arsenal in pre-season

Arsenal youngster Serge Gnabry is hoping to impress Arsene Wenger during pre-season as he looks to establish himself in the Gunners’ senior side.

The Germany Under-21 winger has not featured for Arsenal’s first team since sustaining a long-term injury against Bayern Munich last season in the Champions League.

Prior to that injury, Gnabry was in the headlines for all the right reasons though as his performances were catching the eyes of many.

Gnabry joined Arsenal back in 2010 and went on to make his professional first-team debut for the club in September 2012 against Coventry City in the League Cup.

The 20-year-old then made his league debut the following month against Norwich City and he has since made 18 appearances over three seasons in the first team.

Gnabry said: “I’m hoping to make an impact in pre-season to get the manager to see that I’m back on track again. I’m hoping that this pre-season goes well for me and that I can establish myself.

“Pre-season is there for everyone to show what they’ve got. It’s the start of the season so everything is new. I’m hoping to make an impression.”

Gnabry has now fought his way back to full fitness and starred in the Under-21s’ 4-0 win against Wolves recently, claiming a goal and two assists.

Gnabry, who was born in Stuttgart and started his career with the Bundesliga outfit, is highly-rated at Arsenal and will be hoping to make an impact in pre-season, with a number of fixtures – including the Emirates Cup 0 pencilled in for Wenger’s men.
