The Portuguese international shared a close relationship with former Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti, who lost his job to Benitez in the summer.

According to Marca, Benitez's insistence on Gareth Baleplaying in a central area has left Ronaldo dissatisfied with his position in the team.
