Real Madrid crushed Real Betis in a five star showing at the Bernabéu to register their first La Liga win of the season.

Rafa Benitez was looking for a strong showing in his first home game of the season and he certainly got it as his side flew out the traps and opened the scoring after two minutes through Gareth Bale, the Welshman heading home from close range after getting on the end of a James Rodriguez cross in.

It was the Colombian who then made it two six minutes before the break when his direct free kick from the ride hand side of the field flew past Adan in the Betis goal and struck the far post and went in, a truly brilliant strike.

Just like the first half Real Betis were slow to start and were made to pay for it when Karim Benzema scored a couple of minutes after the break, it was a well worked team goal with Rodriguez finding Bale who then whipped in a pinpoint cross to find the head of Benzema who then did the honors and headed home.

Madrid then scored again three minutes later with James Rodriguez, seemingly in his own contest, went and scored a goal as good, if not better than his first. The ball was played in and Rodriguez flicked the ball up and set himself up for a bicycle kick which he then converted.

The night's proceedings were then finished just before the final whistle when Gareth Bale got his second of the game after his wonderful long range effort went off the post and in. It was a miserable night for Real Betis who knew the game was up after the hour mark when after winning a rather soft penalty didn't bring any rewards as Keylor Navas guessed right and kept out Ruben Castro's spot kick...
