Laurent Koscielny has suggested that the addition of goalkeeper Petr Cech will make the Gunners' defence "more serene".

The former Chelsea stopper became Arsenal's first summer signing earlier this month, and Koscielny has insisted that the keeper's vast experience should help to settle things at the back.

"Petr has played 11 years in England, and made more than 300 appearances in the Premier League, and has won a lot of trophies," said Koscielny, according to The Mirror.

"He is professional, you felt that in his first training session. He talks a lot, and his position that's very important.

"He will do well with us and when you have a good keeper like this behind you, you are more serene."

Cech moved to the Gunners for a fee that is thought to be in the region of £11m...
