Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Čech will have his medical next week ahead of a move to Arsenal,Sky Sports are reporting.

The Gunners have agreed a £10.9 million deal with their Premier League rivals but will not land the goalkeeper until next week at the earliest as he still needs to pass his medical.

Sky state that the medical will begin in the middle of next week.

It is understood that Čech has already agreed personal terms with the north London club.

The 33-year-old is heading into the final 12 months of his deal at Stamford Bridge and had been quoted during the 2014-15 season his intentions to leave this summer after losing his first-team spot to Thibaut Courtois at the beginning of the season.

Čech made only seven Premier League appearances as Chelsea won the title – he had been their regular first choice for the previous decade since arriving from French Ligue 1 side Rennes.

Provided the deal goes through as expected, the Czech Republic international could make his debut versus Chelsea in Arsenal’s first competition match of 2015-16 – the Community Shield at Wembley on 2 August....
