Mesut Ozil has praised Arsenal team-mate Alexis Sanchez’s goalscoring record with the club, after the Chilean enjoyed a good debut season, saying that he takes his hat off to the forward, via the club’s official website.

Sanchez joined Arsenal last summer from Barcelona and in his first season in England he managed to score 16 goals in the Premier League – 25 in all competitions.

Ozil, who joined from Real Madrid the summer before, has enjoyed a very good season as well and the pair have shown some impressive link-up play.

Speaking to the club’s website, the German international praised Sanchez’s dribbling and finishing and says that he has been impressed by what he has achieved this season.

“His particular strengths are one on ones,

“He’s agile, quick and dangerous in front of goal. He’s scored a lot of goals for us this season, so I take my hat off to him.”

Arsenal have traditionally not spent big on transfers but, in the past two summers, the signings of Ozil and Sanchez have suggested there might be a change in the air.

The fee for Ozil is believed to have been £42.4 million (via BBC Sport) with the Sanchez fee quoted at £35 million (via BBC).

Arsenal finished third in the Premier League last season but they did win the FA Cup for the second year in a row.

The clubs’ fans will be hoping that they can improve on this next season and go far in the Champions League or challenge for the league title...
