Arsenal and Galatasaray are set to complete a deal for Lukas Podolski after the forward confirmed that he has agreed personal terms with the Turkish giants, as reported by Metro.

Podolski, 29, joined Arsenal in 2012 and despite featuring more regularly during his first two seasons at the Emirates, the forward has always struggled for consistency.

During the 2014/15 campaign, the Germany superstar was used sparingly by Arsene Wenger as the Gunners signed the likes of Alexis Sanchez.

However, Podolski has confirmed that he wants to leave the Gunners for the Turkish giants.

Podolski said: “I have agreed with Galatasaray,”

“I want to leave.” Furthermore, the Metro report the Gunners are set to agree a £2.4 million fee for Podolski, while talkSPORT reported the fee will be £1.4 million and that it had been agreed between the two clubs.

The 2014 World Cup winner featured just seven times for Arsenal during the 2014/15 Premier League season. Podolski didn’t start a single game or score a goal.

His lack of chances resulted in him joining Inter Milan on loan, but Podolski’s time in Italy was rather forgetable too.

The German managed to play 17 games in Serie A, starting on just eight occasions. Again, Podolski struggled for goals, the attacker scored just once for the Italians.

The Gunners forward also had a rather woeful shot accuracy of 36%, meaning he only had five shots on target for Inter.

The 29-year-old was something of a creative force for the Serie A side, the German created 15 chances, registering one assist...
