Real Madrid are lining up a shock move for Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny, according to the latest reports today.

The French international looked set to remain at the Emirates club for next season; however, according to the latest reports, Real Madrid are now lining up a £22million deal for the central defender, who has been arguably the Gunners best over the past couple of campaigns.

New Madrid boss and former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is believed to be a keen admirer of the 29-year-old, with reports suggesting that Benitez is keen to partner him with his compatriot Raphael Varane in the centre of the defence.

The Gunners and Arsene Wenger will be desperate to keep hold of one of their stars players, however Real are determined and if history is to repeat itself it would suggest that the defender could be on his way to the Spanish capital....
