Krystian Bielik will have Arsenal medical on Friday, Legia Warsaw confirm.....

The 17-year-old midfielder told the Legia website that he would be travelling to London for a medical in the hope of 'fulfilling his dreams'

Legia Warsaw have confirmed that young Arsenal target Krystian Bielik will have a medical with the Gunners on Friday.

The 17-year-old midfielder has been linked to Arsene Wenger's side throughout the window, and it appears the move is imminent.

Bielik told the Legia website: "I'm going to London to fulfil my dreams. I hope I will become an Arsenal player soon."

He has made six appearances for Legia so far, five in the Polish Ekstraklasa and one in the Europa League.

The youngster only joined the Polish champions at the start of this season, moving from Lech Poznan.

The Gunners had a bid rejected for Bielik earlier in the month, but it appears they have now met Legia's valuation of the player.

Standing at over six-feet tall, and with an ability to accurately pepper long-balls across the field, Arsenal's repeated interest has understandably earned Bielik comparisons with former Gunners' captain Patrick Vieira. That isn't where the similarities end either, with the youngster's ability to control the pace of the game from his position in front of the back-four already standing out as a key strength.

Bielik also isn't afraid to show his ball skills, by taking players on when no other options are available; yet he still has a maturity and discipline which prevents him from getting himself into trouble.

His imposing height has an advantage in the box too, with his three Poland U17 goals this season, as well as one of his fourth-tier brace against Sokol Aleksandrow Lodzki, coming from headers.
