Arsenal Stay Strong To Beat West Ham

29/12/14 By EverArsenal

Arsenal went to West Ham yesterday knowing they were going to face a really strong physical test and they would have to be at their best to stand up to it. The good news was the inclusion of Laurent Koscielny in the defence from the start as he is such an important player to Arsenal. His absences for the majority of the last couple of months have been sorely felt by the team and the defence has struggled in his absence.

Arsenal Snatch A Point From The Jaws of Victory

23/12/14

The roller coaster ride continued for Arsenal yesterday when they went to Liverpool and came away with a 2-2 draw from a game which could have gone either way. The team didn't play well in the first half in particular with goalscoring chances few and far between. The result may have been a lot better than the 5-1 drubbing handed out by Liverpool last season, but the late Liverpool equaliser certainly didn't make it feel too much better.

It's that time of the week again when I attempt to predict the outcome of the Arsenal Premier League game.

Arsenal v Newcastle United

5.30pm GMT, Emirates Stadium, London

Arsenal were awful in the first half at Stoke last week and undid so much of their recent good work. They have lost three of their last five league games, but they are still only four points outside the top four. They have only lost once in their last 25 home league games, but they won't find it easy against this Newcastle side.

Alexis Sanchez is the Arsenal player to have for fantasy managers while Aaron Ramsey looks like he might have found some form at last.

Newcastle did the whole league a favour last week by beating Chelsea and look like a very good side. They are strong defensively and have plenty of pace and power on the break which are a very good combination. They have only lost once in their last nine games and have kept clean sheets in four of those games.

Papiss Cisse has done well for Newcastle in recent weeks and some of their defenders are worth considering at a very good price too.

This game looks like it could go either way, but my loyalties always make me opt for Arsenal.

Prediction: 2-1

Arsenal Champions League And FA Cup Latest

9/12/14

After a weekend to forget there isn't much breathing space for Arsenal as they travel to Galatasaray in their final Champions League group game. With a place in the last 16 already guaranteed there isn't too much to play for and the Arsenal team will show a lot of changes as a result. They have an outside chance of winning their group if Dortmund slip up at home to Anderlecht and Arsenal win, but it's a pretty unlikely scenario.

It's that time of the week again when I attempt to predict the outcome of Arsenal's next Premier League game

Wednesday December 3

Arsenal v Southampton

7.45om GMT, Emirates Stadium, London

Arsenal got a win away to West Brom on Saturday to halt a run of two defeats in a row. They have only won two of their six home games though and need to improve their home form. They're only two points off the top four and need to put a good run together to close that gap.

Alexis Sanchez has been by far the best fantasy performer in the Arsenal team so far, but he hasn't fared well in the last two games.

Southampton came crashing back to earth on Sunday when they lost 3-0 at home to City and dropped to third in the league. They have some tough games coming up and need to try to bounce back as soon as possible. They have taken 10 points from their six away games and have the best defensive record away from home.

Southampton's defenders have all done well so far but they have a tough run of games at the moment while Graziano Pelle has gone off the boil recently.

I think Arsenal might just be able to get the better of a good Southampton team in this game.

Prediction: 1-0

Arsenal's Trip To West Brom Previewed

Arsenal managed to get a win for the first time in four games when they beat Dortmund at home on Wednesday night. It was a very welcome victory as it sealed their place in the last 16 of the Champions League for the 15th season in a row. They showed the effort and commitment which had been questioned in that game and it has given real cause for hope.

Arsenal Advance In Europe As More Injuries Strike

By Jamrock Rover

Last night was a good night for Arsenal for the first time in a while as they beat Dortmund to guarantee their place in the last 16 of the Champions League. After throwing away a three goal lead at home to Anderlecht in their last group game Dortmund looked like a frightening prospect as they brought their 100% record to the Emirates. A draw was all Arsenal needed to guarantee the runners up spot in the group, but their win still gives them an outside chance of topping the group.
