Arsenal have entered talks with Napoli over a deal to bring Eduardo Vargas to north London.

The Chile front man, who has been recommended to Arsene Wenger by his international team-mate Alexis Sanchez, is deemed surplus to requirements by the Serie A club.

Vargas has scored four goal to lead the goalscoring charts in this summer's Copa America tournament and help Chile reach the final of the competition on home soil.

And his name will be familiar to Premier League followers as the 25-year-old spent last season on loan at relegated QPR.

The Gunners have been impressed with what they have seen from the diminutive attacker this summer and it has been revealed by Sportmediaset that Arsenal could land him for £11m.

"Every year, at this time, everyone asks about Vargas," the player's agent, Cristian Ogalde, told Italian station Radio Kiss Kiss.

"Vargas is a Napoli player and he wants to play. He wants to be happy and to be given the space that his level of performance deserves.

"That said, it's too early to say where he'll play next season. Everything depends on the conversation we'll have with Napoli."

Since joining Napoli from Universidad de Chile in 2011, the speedy striker has been sent out on loan on three different occasions and failed to establish himself at the Stadio San Paolo....
