West Brom have reportedly started negotiations with midfielder Abou Diaby following his release from Arsenal this summer.

Baggies chief Tony Pulis is looking to bolster his squad at the Hawthorns and is believed to be closing in on some new signings having only managed to bring in winger James McClean from Wigan so far.

And a report in the Birmingham Mail is suggesting that Albion have made a move to hand 29-year-old Diaby a chance to resurrect his career in the Premier League.

The France international moved to Arsenal from Auxerre in 2006 for around £2million, but only managed 180 first-team appearances, scoring 19 goals, because of a succession of injury problems.

However it appears Pulis is confident that West Brom would be able to keep Diaby fit and feels his signing is a risk worth taking ahead of the new Premier League campaign....
