Reports in Turkey suggest Fenerbahce are close to completing a €5.5m deal for Arsenal’s Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina.

Currently playing in the Copa America, Ospina usurped Wojciech Szczesny as Arsene Wenger’s number one goalkeeper during the second half of the 14/15 campaign.

Signed last summer from French club Nice, David Ospina’s services at the club may no longer be required with the signing of Chelsea’s Petr Cech seemingly imminent.

HaberTurk report that the Turkish side have agreed a €5.5m fee for the 26 year old keeper and will pay the South American €2m a season.

Volkan Demirel has been the first choice keeper at Fenerbahce for a number of years, having joined the club from Kartalspor in 2002.

The Gunners would have no use for David Ospina if Petr Cech arrives, with academy graduate Wojciech Szczesny seen as a more ideal number two.
