Danny Welbeck "I know I will score an abundance of goals for Arsenal"

Danny Welbeck has admitted his disappointment at the lack of goals in his debut season with the gunners but insists he will come good next year.

The 24-year-old has scored eight times in 34 appearances since making a £16million deadline day move from Manchester United last summer.

Although he has become an integral part of Roy Hodgson’s England plans after becoming the leading goalscorer in Euro 2016 qualification with six strikes in four games, Welbeck has been unable to replicate that consistency for his new club.

Olivier Giroud has since returned to full fitness to lead the Gunners’ attack but Welbeck believes he is on the verge of becoming a regular goalscorer at Emirates Stadium once he fully adjusts to life in north London, having been at United since he was just eight years old.

“It has been a transitional season for me, moving down to London, playing in a new system for a new manager and a new team, getting used to new things around the club,” he said.
