Arsenal have received a major boost on the injury front after midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain admitted that he will be "back on the pitch soon".

The England international suffered a hamstring injury during the Gunners' 3-1 loss at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup on 28 October.

"The rehab is going well, 80-90% sprints today...looking forward to being back on the pitch soon," Oxlade-Chamberlain wrote on his official Instagram page.

The 22-year-old attacker is expected to return to the squad following the ongoing international break, which will come as a big boost to Arsene Wenger, who is facing a major injury crisis at the club.

Tomas Rosicky, Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck, Aaron Ramsey, Hector Bellerin and Theo Walcott are all sidelined with injury.

The former trio are not expected back until the new year, while the latter are expected back by December.
