Barcelona received a boost after Neymar and Sergio Busquets were deemed fit enough to be named in their squad to face Malaga on Saturday, although the Catalans face a defensive dilemma.

Brazilian forward Neymar had missed the start of the Catalans' season with a bout of mumps, while Busquets injured his ankle in their 1-0 opening win at Athletic Bilbao last weekend and was substituted as a precaution.

However, the key pair have both been cleared by the club's medical staff to face Malaga, although the groin strain Dani Alves picked up in the same clash with Athletic means he will be sidelined for the visit of Javi Gracia's side.

Adriano and Douglas are also absent which, combined with Gerard Pique's suspension after he was sent off in the Spanish Super Cup defeat to Athletic, leaves Blaugrana coach Luis Enrique short of defensive options.

As a result, Sergi Roberto and Thomas Vermaelen are likely to reprise their roles from last Sunday at right-back and central defence respectively as they take on a side they failed to beat across both games last term....
