Arsene Wenger is happy with his options at centre-back despite there being suggestions that he will look to bolster that area of the team this summer.

Yet, many fans have called for him to add at least one more centre-half in the upcoming transfer window. Reports have seen them linked with moves for the likes of Mats Hummels, as per the Express, while dispatches from France have attributed Wenger with an interest in Lyon’s Samuel Umtiti (via Daily Star).

However, the aforementioned broadsheet source suggests that Wenger believes that Nacho Monreal, Calum Chambers and Gabriel are more than worthy cover for the reliable partnership of Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker.

It’s no surprise to see, then, that they conceded 23 league goals in 19 matches leading up until the new year, whereas they managed to ship just 13 in 2015.

This has, though, been largely down to the return of 29-year-old Koscielny. The France international, who has even managed to score three times in just 27 appearances for the North Londoners, has been a reliable figure at the heart of Arsenal’s defence for many seasons now.

As a result, his impressive displays have seen him linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid this summer, according to the Mirror...
