Arsenal are on the verge of signing one of the deadliest finishers in world football after it was revealed the Gunners are close to signing Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.

The French international was in superb goalscoring form in Ligue 1 last term, finishing top of the charts with an unbelievable 27 league goals. His form has seen a number of top European sides linked with a move for the 24-year-old, with Liverpool also showing an interest from the Premier League.

Arsenal will have to pay £28million to complete a deal for the forward and Lyon will happily part with their prize asset should Arsene Wenger offer that amount.

Wenger is desperate to add another striker to his squad this summer to ease the burden currently being placed on Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez. Lacazette could prove to be an instant hit at the Emirates considering his ability in front of goal, and partnered with Giroud it could help Arsenal launch an assault on the Premier League title....
